How to explain why Irish Beef is as good as it is?
Well, it is a combination of factors that merge to a happy confluence that result in our great tasting beef.
Firstly, it is the animal. Our cattle are reared with respect by farming families from across Ireland. No growth hormones are used in the production of Irish cattle.
Secondly, it is the grass advantage. Ireland is very fortunate to have a weather system influenced by the Gulf Stream, a mild climate with lots of rain. This helps our grass to grow all year around, giving us one of the longest outdoor grazing seasons in Europe. Our livestock enjoy a happy and healthy life grazing outdoors from Spring through to Autumn and in the winter.
To protect our livestock and our land, we house our cattle in a warm safe environment where they enjoy a diet of grass and grains protected from the cold winter elements while the land recovers before a new grazing season begins.
